In cooperation with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung / Egypt Office and Greenish, the Kayan Foundation for Community Development is participating in holding an intensive workshop to build the capabilities of civil society institutions in the field of climate change and to prepare for effective participation in the climate summit, which will be held in Sharm El-Sheikh in November 2022.
The importance of this workshop, which takes place in Alexandria over four days, between March 20 and 23, is mainly concerned with introducing the attendees, including civil society organizations, initiatives, actors and academics concerned with environmental affairs, to the negotiations on financing development projects with the aim of combating climate change. And reduce its effects, especially in the countries of the South, and therefore the active participation of civil society with all its institutions in climate change negotiations is necessary.
The workshop is attended by a group of civil society organizations and experts concerned with environmental issues in general and climate change in particular, in order to build their capacities through training and lectures on negotiations and to introduce all developments regarding climate and energy challenges, as well as an introduction to the negotiating principles of the Climate Summit.
